I think Kansans have an inferiority complex. I've taken to scanning the Wichita Eagle online every day, and, no joke, every time that a Kansan does something of national interest, it makes the front page. Today it's: "Blood, sweat and gears: Kansan in 'Murderball' (sic)". A couple of days ago, it was "Two Kansans in next 'Survivor' (sic)". It's like they have to prove that Kansas exists and that people other than serial killers and little girls who get swept away to fantasy lands actually LIVE here.
But at least we're not in Nebraska, which, after looking at our road atlas, seems to exist for the sole purpose of running an interstate highway through it.
